The tax filing deadline has been pushed back to July 15th, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t file sooner. There have been scams where names and social security numbers are stolen and used to file false tax returns. One way to protect yourself is to file your return before the scammers get a chance to. Low probability of being scammed but a major hassle if you’re one of the unlucky ones. And if you are due a refund, you get it sooner, and even if you owe, you can still file now and not pay until July 15.
